Happy Family

Dedication that does not deviate

Hardworking Palmetto Electric families know how important energy issues are to our everyday lives.

We feel the costs of price inflation hurting our families, live with the threats of extreme storms, heat waves, and rising seas, and want practical solutions for more local careers and good-paying jobs.

I'm Albertha "Dee Dee" Johnson-Mikell and I'd be honored to earn your vote to work as your next partner on the Palmetto Board of Directors.

I've built a life here in Jasper County for over 35 years, raising my children and now my grandchildren to cherish this special place. I've worked in local finance and education, helping families and businesses __________________________________

OUR LOCAL ENERGY OPPORTUNITY

American energy innovation is advancing quickly, with exciting technologies that are cheaper, cleaner, more democratic and more local than in decades past.

The opportunities to reduce consumer costs, limit pollution of our land, air, water and lungs, and grow a new generation of good-paying local careers is ours for the taking - if our board and staff partner with the community to get it done.

Other powerful new technologies can give us each a chance to manage our own energy use, running energy-intensive appliances when electricity costs are low and saving when costs would be expensive.

Helping consumers get access to electric appliances, electric vehicles, and local solar isn't just good for their pocketbooks - often saving families $1,500-3,000 a year - it's also great for the co-op's bottom line. This switch to electrification also creates new local sources of good-paying skilled trades jobs and small business income.

BUSINESS EXPERIENCE FOR OUR BOARD

For decades, I've worked in local finance, helping families and businesses large and small plan for their futures, make sense of their options, and create jobs and wealth.

In our everyday lives, Palmetto Electric is one of our biggest costs. I'm running for the board to make sure it's one of our biggest investments - returning cost savings, new opportunity, and a stronger community and economy for all of us.

Anchored in Community

We all have busy lives and most people I talk with have limited time to pay attention to electric cooperative topics, much less attend meetings and advocate for their needs.

I'm running for our board to bridge that gap between members and the board room, sharing essential Palmetto Electric Co-op information with the community and bringing your needs and hopes to the heart of decision making.
